Grades & Finishes

Common Grades

• Austenitic: 201/202 (cost-efficient), 301/301HQ (spring), 304/304L (general), 316/316L (corrosion), 321
• Ferritic: 409L, 430/439/441 — trim, appliance, heat shields
• Martensitic: 410/420 — blades, wear; check hardness route
• Duplex: 2205 — high strength/corrosion
• PH: 17-7PH — spring strip (on request)

Surface Finishes (Guide)

• 2B — smooth, universal fabrication finish (Ra ~0.2–0.5 μm)
• BA — bright annealed mirror-like (Ra ~0.03–0.1 μm)
• 2D — dull cold-rolled/annealed/pickled base
• No.3 / No.4 / HL — brushed decorative; use film
• 8K — high-gloss mirror; laser film available

Supply Range

All dimensions customizable. “On the plain” = base sheet thickness excluding lug height.

Parameter Capability Notes
Thickness 0.05–3.0 mm Thinner/thicker by inquiry
Width 3–650 mm Custom slit programs
Coil ID / OD 200/300/400/508/610 mm / up to ~1200 mm Per grade & line
Coil Form Oscillate wound • Pancake Long lengths with fewer changeovers
Finishes 2B, BA, 2D, No.3, No.4/HL, 8K Dry/oil; PE/PVC films
Edge Mill, slit, deburred, round/safety, square Burr height targets per PO
Docs EN 10204 3.1, MTR, CoC RoHS/REACH available

Dimensional Tolerances (Typical)

Per ASTM A480 / EN ISO 9445 (cold-rolled strip). Tighter thickness, width, flatness, camber and burr limits can be agreed on the PO.

Metric Typical Control Comment
Thickness per gauge class e.g., ±0.02–0.05 mm (thin)
Width ±0.05–0.15 mm depends on width & gauge
Camber ≤3 mm in 3 m (typ.) tight on spring strip
Burr Height ≤10% t (typ.) or per buyer target

Hardness / Tempers

Annealed, 1/8, 1/4, 1/2, 3/4, Full Hard (and Extra Full for 301). Austenitic per ASTM A666; spring-temper per buyer spec.

Applications

Springs & Clips

301/17-7PH spring strip for resilient parts, hinges, clamps.

Clamps & Hose Clamps

304/316 and ferritic 430/439 for automotive and appliance.

Gaskets & Shims

Precision strip/shim stock for spacing, sealing, leveling.

Shielding & Enclosures

EMI/RFI shielding, formed covers & brackets.

Appliance & Architecture

BA/HL strip for trims, facias and decorative profiles.

General Fabrication

Laser, stamping, bending with protective films.

Processing & Value-Add

• Precision slitting with burr & camber control
• Edge: deburred, round/safety, square; edge conditioning
• Brushing, polishing (No.4/HL/8K)
• Film lamination (PE/PVC; laser-friendly options)
• Blanking & cut-to-length strips

Coil Weight & Length

Oscillate wound for long continuous length (fewer press changeovers); pancake for general fabrication and service centers.

Mass formula: kg/m = thickness(mm) × width(mm) × 0.00793.

Example: 0.50 mm × 100 mm → 0.50 × 100 × 0.00793 ≈ 0.396 kg/m.
