Panoramica del prodotto
The 2205 duplex stainless steel coil is a high-performance material integrating dual microstructures of ferrite and austenite. Its unique chemical composition, typically containing 22% – 23% chromium (Cr), 4.5% – 6.5% nickel (Ni), 2.5% – 3.5% molybdenum (Mo), and 0.08% – 0.2% nitrogen (N), with the balance being iron (Fe), endows the material with a series of excellent properties, making it highly favored in numerous industries.
Product Characteristics
Eccezionale resistenza alla corrosione
- Uniform Corrosion Resistance: The high chromium content forms a stable oxide film, effectively resisting the erosion of general corrosive media. The synergistic effect of molybdenum and nitrogen significantly enhances the corrosion resistance in various complex environments, outperforming 316L and 317L stainless steels in most environments.
- Localized Corrosion Resistance: It exhibits outstanding resistance to aggressive media such as chloride ions, capable of effectively withstanding pitting and crevice corrosion, and performs excellently in chemical and marine environments containing chlorine.
- Stress Corrosion Resistance: The duplex microstructure gives it excellent resistance to stress corrosion cracking. Under severe conditions where certain temperatures, stresses, and corrosive media coexist, its performance far exceeds that of ordinary austenitic stainless steels, effectively avoiding chloride stress corrosion problems.
High Strength and Good Toughness
The yield strength is as high as above 450 MPa, approximately twice that of ordinary austenitic stainless steels, the tensile strength can reach 620 MPa and above, and it also has good impact toughness and an elongation of at least 25%. While ensuring structural strength, it can withstand a certain degree of deformation without rupture, meeting the requirements of various high-load application scenarios.
Buona macchinabilità
- Hot Working: The hot working temperature range is 954 – 1149 °C (1750 – 2100 °F). Within this interval, the material has good plasticity. After hot forming, it can restore its optimal performance state through solution annealing and quenching treatment at a temperature above 1900 °F (1040 °C).
- Cold Working: It can be cut and cold-formed. However, due to its high strength and relatively high work hardening rate, rebound factors must be fully considered during processing, and appropriate processing techniques and equipment should be adopted.
- Welding Performance: It has good welding performance, and common welding methods such as GTAW (TIG), GMAW (MIG), SMAW (manual electrode welding), and SAW (submerged arc welding) can all be applied. During the welding process, the interlayer temperature needs to be controlled below 149 °C (300 °F), preheating should be avoided, and low heat input should be used to ensure that the performance of the welded joint is comparable to that of the base metal.
