Ceisteanna Coitianta

1) 304 vs 316 — which grade should I choose?

304 is the general-purpose choice with excellent formability and cost effectiveness. 316/316L adds molybdenum for better pitting resistance, recommended for coastal, marine or chloride-rich environments, food & pharma washdown areas, and some chemical exposures.

2) What does the “L” mean in 304L/316L?

“L” indicates low carbon (≤0.03%). It reduces the risk of carbide precipitation during welding, improving weld corrosion resistance. Choose L-grades when parts will be welded or stress-relieved.

3) 2B vs BA vs No.4/HL vs 8K — what’s the difference?

2B: smooth, universal fabrication finish. BA: bright-annealed mirror-like for appliances/architecture. No.4/HL: brushed decorative (use PVC film). 8K: true mirror for premium décor; protect with laser film.

4) What tolerances do you support for thickness/width/flatness?

We follow ASTM A480 / EN ISO 9445-2 (CR) and EN 10051 (HR) unless buyer specs are tighter. Typical CR: tight thickness and flatness; width per slit program. We confirm tolerances on the PO and certify on EN 10204 3.1 MTR.

5) Can you slit to narrow widths?

What about burr and camber?
Yes. We slit down to narrow ribbon widths with controlled burr height and camber per spec. Edge options: mill, slit/deburred, or conditioned edges. Share your target burr (e.g., ≤10% of thickness) and camber limits for best results.

6) What coil IDs and packing orientations are available?

Standard IDs are 508 mm and 610 mm. We pack coil eye-to-sky or eye-to-wall as requested, with anti-rust paper, side protectors, steel banding, desiccants, and palletized, seaworthy crates.

7) Which grades are better for coastal or chloride service?

316L is the standard upgrade from 304 in chloride exposure. For higher chlorides or crevice risk, consider 2205 duplex (1.4462) or 904L. Surface finish, design details, and cleaning regime also affect performance.

8) Are your coils suitable for deep drawing and tight bending?

Yes, specify annealed CR coil and your forming target. Minimum bend radius depends on grade, thickness and finish; 304/304L in annealed temper offers excellent formability for deep-drawn and pressed parts.

9) Do you provide surface protection films?

We offer PVC/PE films for No.4/HL and 8K mirror, including laser-cut compatible films. Film type and adhesion level are matched to process (laser, bending, stamping) to minimize residue and orange peel.

10) What are your typical lead times, MOQs, and documents?

Stock finishes can ship quickly; polished/8K or special slitting adds time. MOQ depends on grade/finish (often 3–5 tons per spec). We supply EN 10204 3.1 MTR, packing list, CoC, and RoHS/REACH declarations on request.
